The above examples describe a wide range of geographical and geotemporal storytelling models, often based around quite simple data files containing information about individual events. Many of the tools make a strong use of image files as pat of the display. it may be interesting to complete a more detailed review that describes the exact data models used by each of the techniques, with a view to identifying a generic data model that could be used by each of the different models, or transformed into the distinct data representations supported by each of the separate tools. - See more at: http://schoolofdata.org/2014/08/25/seven-ways-to-create-a-storymap/#sthash.tWi68hgm.dpuf

Writing doesn´t have to be a tedious process and we can enhance it with some tools. It might develop some creativity too!

Using comic strips is one powerful way to get students excited and motivated about the writing act. Students love to interact with visuals and tools such as the ones listed below will empower them to do just that. Using these comic strip generators , students will get to engage in conversations using cartoonic characters and build stories and share their works with each other.

If you use Tweetdeck's mobile app... I believe they are shutting it down in early May. As to your question about Hootsuite, the analytics reports are extremely helpful in determining what content your fans/followers are reading and engaging with. The auto-schedule feature is great for determining best time of day to post on a daily basis and the ability to manage Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn profile + company pages/Google+ profile and pages and the additional apps they have that allows you to manage tumblr, youtube, instagram and even MailChimp are excellent!

All these tools keep "leap-frogging" each other in terms of functionality so I just keep an eye on several of them which is where this community comes in useful to see what others think and are using :)

I’ve become quite the fan of Gephi, lately, and received a good-natured challenge by one of my colleagues, which went something like, “Why is a everything a network with you, now?” Obviously, in the case of social network-like phenomena, such as mapping collaboration in the Digital Humanities with the DH@Stanford graph–network theory and network language (whether visual or theoretical) make sense. Network analytical tools like Gephi are also only a short step away from spatial analytical tools, like ArcGIS, many of which are used to ask questions about geographic networks and not about the kind of continuous data found in topography.
