"Google Earth just released a brand new tool that lets you measure the world around you. If you want to know how far your hike, run, walk, jog, bike ride, or other path is, you can now use this easy measuring tool to find out.

You can also use this new Google Earth tool to figure out areas to learn the size of a piece of property, a park, stadium or country.

Now you can measure the exact distance between two points, or three points. Or as many points as you’d like. Or the area of a parcel of land."
