Self explanatory visual on the benefits of gaming as a means of learning. Outlined are the rewards, mastery, engagement, intensity, exercise, readiness, and competitiveness. These types of graphics need to be displayed in the classroom. There's always parents who are unsure of how gaming qualifies as teaching. Can't they just sit their kid in front of an iPad all day at home? Well, in the appropriate setting, with the right direction and guidance, games are certainly good for learning. Some people just don't know that from experience yet. |

SoundCloud is a great source for more things than just music. While searching through soundcloud you can find podcasts and talks, so I don't see why they couldn't use it's powers for teaching, I think this is a cool idea. |
Career and Technical Education programs (often called vocational schools) have their students learn by doing. Learning by doing is known as experiential learning. Why is experiential learning beneficial? Below are the three reasons described in this post.
Reason 1: Experiential education promotes positive attitudes towards learning.
Reason 2: Experiential education provides true-to-life experience that enhances career exploration.
Reason 3: Experiential education helps create more engaged members of the workforce.
Each of these reasons is discussed in the post. There is also an excellent infographic, Experiential Learning in the Classroom: Learn by Doing.
