Picturing America - an iniative to bring masterpieces of American Arts schools | Eclectic Technology | Scoop.it

Picturing America, an exciting new initiative from the National Endowment for the Humanities, brings masterpieces of American art into classrooms and libraries nationwide...each masterpiece has an "inspiration" that discusses the picture as well as an artist bio and resources to use in the classroom.

Lauren's curator insight, August 1, 2013 7:57 PM

Picturing America focuses on American Art in relation to American history. This site is a project by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association. Images can browsed by theme or time period, and each image provides a backstory that explains its significance. This is a great resource for any student focusing on American Art.
