A Guide To Helsinki’s Dreamy Coffee Scene | Human Interest | Scoop.it

Scandinavia has long been known as the source of some of the most innovative, tasteful coffee projects in the world. Nordic Approach and Tim Wendelboe are the names on everyone’s lips in Norway; Johan and Nyström and Drop Coffee (winner of the 2013 Sprudgie for Notable Roaster) produce some of the best baristas and coffees in Sweden; and down in Denmark, The Coffee Collective contributes to the hyggelige atmosphere of Copenhagen with their charming shops. But what about Finland? Until fairly recently, there was not as much to talk about over in Helsinki, despite the fact that Finland has the second-highest per-capita coffee consumption in the world. However, thanks to the dedicated work of a number of quality-focused shops and a new wave of passionate coffee professionals, Helsinki is rapidly becoming an international coffee destination in its own right.
