"A Bit of Humor to 'kick start' your day...

Buck,buck...buck...buckAHHHH; brrk, brroock, broock, brk-ooock; bwwaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkk and bock, bock, bock, bock, bock, begowwwwk!
NO! I did not make the sounds as I typed or did I?

My husband and I both awoke this morning in rare form! Laughter is ever present in our household but this morning was different. Ever been so tired you became 'punchy'? Everything you saw, everything you said seemed funny and you laughed at the silliest things almost to the point of hysteria like running on high from too much caffeine. That's us today and would you believe it led to the topic of conversation being chicken."

Today's History Lesson

The history lesson for today steps back in time to one of the first automobiles, not the very first but the first of its kind. While today's founding does not carry the Made in America label, it certainly had a impact on America still present in the 21st century. As styles and technology evolved, the 'classic' became the 'new' but if you want a 'fun' new Beetle, buy the 'classic'!

Today's History Lesson

In the 21st century, on the average not much thought is given to how one might travel from one place to another. Automobiles are commonplace with many households making claim to more than one. Then, there are the boats, buses, trains and planes, as well as the recreational vehicles. Travel has not always been so convenient. In fact, picture no more than feet, horse and wagon.

It is not summer yet but definitely right around the corner. When you think summer, you envision hot steamy days with thoughts of anything cold...iced tea, ice cream, and of course, Popsicles! The flavors are many increasing each year as new ideas come to fruition but it still hard to beat the traditional, the classic, the any kid's favorite.

There are always some foods that just don't tempt the palate from first mention or sight on the menu. Perhaps it is just the thought of such possibilities actually being edible. This is true for some raw and some cooked.

"I must admit when I was in school, my least favorite subject was history. Not for a moment could I see any relevance in memorizing what occurred on this day in that year and that date in this year, in this decade and that decade, from one century to the next. Perhaps the problem was no more than simply memorization...memorize, memorize, memorize only to regurgitate fact after fact in order to pass a test! Never was a connection made to how this day in history connected the past to the present nor how it laid the foundation for people, places and things yet to be.

This Day in History: May 10, 1877"

Abraham Lincoln pioneered government use of the telegraph during the Civil War. Lincoln’s successor, Andrew Johnson, had the first telegraph room built in the White House. On May 10, 1877, President Rutherford B. Hayes had the first telephone installed in the telegraph room of the White House.
