"Among the many, many delicacies of the sea are mollusks, also known as bivalve mollusks, that have two beautifully convexly ridged shells. Scallops are a very popular seafood delicacy that can be found in all of the oceans and are a prized food source, plump and delectable. Being very low in fat, these meaty mollusks are delicious prepared in a variety of ways...sauteed, deep fried or in celebration on this day, baked! Baking them doesn't require much of the butter and fat that otherwise go into cooking this lean, white seafood.
