I went to this yesterday. Incredibly moving. Creates a strong visual sense of loss And the red of the ceramic poppies against the bright green grass .. reminded me of my first visit to The Tower to see where Ann Boleyn had been executed and many others besides ., the grass seemed rich from the blood that had poured upon it .. human fertiliser .. sobering thought
