Another lovely article highlighting the difficulties with policymaking. Morrisons have announced that they are going to only sell 20p plastic and identically-priced paper bags instead. It's hoped that the move will reduce plastic waste.
And yet, for all the good intentions, there are arguments about whether paper bags are any better for the environment: paper bags require more energy to make, have implications for deforestation and generate more pollutants when breaking down.
