This Guardian article looks at how rapidly food price inflation has picked up, to the extent that food prices are expected to be 9% higher in April than at the same time last year.
As a result, consumers are feeling the pinch - but so too are producers - with pig farmers losing up to £50 per pig they kill and egg producers also complaining that rising costs are making them unprofitable too.
