A Bank of England paper looking at the phenomenon of greedflation has concluded that there's only limited evidence of it occurring in the UK. Whilst it admits that excess profits increased in 2021, they've fallen back in 2022, and even then, such abnormal profits were concentrated in specific areas of the economy, such as mining and quarrying, and, wholesale and retail.
As a simple rule of thumb, energy intensive sectors have not seen excess profits, and have suffered, but those without significant competition have been able to make bigger profits.
