The Observer wonders whether the ending of free Covid testing is going to have an adverse impact on the economy. With infection rates at record levels, and a high level of workplace absences, it would see to be inevitable, although the government are keen to point out that the provision of free tests cost £15.7bn last year - and that with greater protection as a result of vaccinations, this is deemed too high an opportunity cost.
