Welcome to Episode 50 of What about it!?

In this Episode, we will take an in depth look at SpaceX's progress in Boca Chica. We will also take a close look at the updated Starlink Satellites and last but not least, we will find out, what you can do with 20 dollars, when it comes to payload and LEO.

In October 2019, Elon Musk’s SpaceX sought permission to launch 30,000 satellites into orbit—on top of the 12,000 already approved satellites—as a part of its Starlink megaconstellation.

Starlink aims to beam high-speed internet around the globe, starting with service in North America as early as 2020.

But…why?

SpaceX's Starlink division is on track to offer satellite-broadband service in the United States in mid-2020, the company’s president and chief operating officer Gwynne Shotwell said Oct. 22.
Getting there will require the company to launch six to eight batches of satellites, Shotwell told reporters during a media roundtable. SpaceX also has to finish the design and engineering of the user terminals, which is not a minor challenge, Shotwell acknowledged.
SpaceX’s proposed Starlink constellation of thousands of satellites, which are designed to orbit at low altitudes above the Earth and beam internet coverage to the surface below.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk posted two tweets that show he's testing the broadband service.
Elon Musk has a Starlink terminal at his house and he used it to send a tweet early on Oct. 22.
”Sending this tweet through space via Starlink satellite,” Elon Musk tweeted to his 29 million followers. Two minutes later, Musk sent a follow-up tweet that said, "Whoa, it worked!!"

A good thing too because there have been no Falcon 9 flights since the AMOS 17 mission back at the start of August which frankly seems like forever by SpaceX standards. But what has been going on with SpaceX since then and what is coming up in the last few months of 2019. So much to cover from Starship, Starlink, Crew Dragon and even some talk about abort systems. Lets dive in!

The European Space Agency (ESA) has published an unusual press release – specifically blaming SpaceX’s nascent Starlink constellation for a collision, we will analyze an aerial view of the latest progress on SpaceX's Starship Orbital Prototype and Super Heavy. We will also take a look at possible landing sites for SpaceX's Starship. We will look at ESA's Aeolus near miss with a Starlink Satellite. Last but not least, we will take a look at four new Starlin launch dates for 2019.

SpaceX's Starhopper flight planned to go as high as 200 m is being delayed by the FAA, SpaceX's suborbital flights with the Starship prototypes could happen as early as September (Elon-time adjusted), and SpaceX has revealed the upcoming launches of the Starlink satellites until mid 2020.

Today we are going to talk about the SpaceX Starlink satellite launch and deployment. This was a record-breaking mission in several ways. But more than that we are going to talk about why this mission is such a big deal. SpaceX has this week sent up the first "operational" set of satellites into orbit. This amazing set of missions aims to create a super low latency telecommunications network. And how are they going to do this? Not by launching just these 60 satellites, which is amazing by itself, but by launching anywhere up to 42,000 satellites in several sophisticated orbital shells around the world. Then, of course, there have been plenty of Starship production news going on and even some more news about Crew Dragon.
