Educational Web Tools to Empower Students Voice in Class

Educational Web Tools to Empower Students Voice in Class | :: The 4th Era :: | Scoop.it

"At the core of progressive pedagogy is the empowerment of students by giving them a voice in class and making them part of the decision making. Unlike traditional instruction where  students are viewed as passive receivers of  pre-designed knowledge, a progressive instruction is primarily student-centered and dialogic in nature. It views students as subjects with a sense of agency capable of co-constructing their own knowledge. This pedagogical stance is especially popularized by educationists such as John Dewy, Paulo Freire, Maxine Greene, and Vygotsky."

Tony Karrer on Teaching Online Courses – 60 Great Resources

Tony Karrer on Teaching Online Courses – 60 Great Resources | :: The 4th Era :: | Scoop.it

Tony Karrer:

As always I do this by looking through eLearning Learning and related sites like Communities and Networks Connection.   I looked at Virtual ClassroomDistance LearningILTTeaching Distance Learning.  I also did some quick searches for various kinds of things and added them into eLearning Learning (via delicious).  So together, I’ve collected a bunch of resources pretty quickly.  That said, there’s so much already out there on this – I’m at this point not quite sure what the real question was/is.  Certainly a lot of this is already findable.  I hope this is useful.  But I think the problem at this point might be something else.  Still here are 60 great resources.
