So many keys to leading in the 21st century leads me to people people are right... we don't know what leaders will need in the future as trends and business changes faster than most can implement change. The ONE thing that does transcend and trump all others is communication skills. listening skills and being your authentic self....after that hold on for the ride.

I chose this article because it made me reflect on the different leadership that I've experienced and it made me contemplate if any were truly "transformational". The article confesses that in many instances, transformational leadership is not desired, However, in the context of education, we seek these types of leaders. Regardless, in my opinion, most leadership (at the building level) is not transformational. I certainly hope that it accounts for more that 8% of those in educational leadership roles.

I like this. I see though (and my work with clients is about this) in many places a going much further than this. I think both leadership and management are every person's role. The biggest shift happening in remarkable workplaces and a necessity in the new world of work is that people management is a dead concept.
